Future Shuttle Launches
True safety should begin with complete reality based thinking, back up systems and confidence in the abilities of the systems and those trusted to do their job. Just because the space shuttle would most likely be doing a dead stick landings as it always does should not make any difference, as the runway at Cape Canaveral is huge and made for such emergencies. Additionally why would the astronauts need to see to fly the spacecraft/aircraft at that point? After all they practice such aborted launches after lift off in simulators, where they are not actually looking at the ground and also we have available now systems, which are even used in Business Jets for zero/zero visibility landings. Is it possible to have such a system for the space shuttle launch? Or can we send up fire works along the perimeters of the spectator areas to trick a missile fired by anyone with a hand held surface to air shoulder launched weapon? We know our Space Shuttle could be targeted by International Terrorists. The systems send out many very hot flare type pieces out of the back of the aircraft and fool the Surface to air missile into thinking that those are the targets, thus the missile goes after the chafe flares instead of the actual aircraft.

General Aviation Manufacturing is in the Tank; Hang On It is Going to Get Worse
We will also see problems in this market as insurance carriers increase prices as less experienced pilots and single pilot mini-business jets experience a higher percentage of will occur. In fact such accidents are already causing friction in the corporate jet insurance costs, showing that certain companies are separating out the categories to keep the mini-business jets in their own realm and pricing points. Long Term will be good because these are considered starter jets attracting new buyers to the market, however short term they will pull buyers away from the higher priced turbo cabin class singles of 4-8 seats. One new market the mini-Business Jet, seems to be a potential as many companies are building these under 1 million dollar jets. This means if we have to import raw materials to compete, we pay those shipping costs too and as the price is passed on for the over regulation in every industry we are finding we are our own worst enemy.

Private Jets: 4 Leaders in Fractional Flying
Richard Santulli is the brainchild behind modern fractional jet flying as he founded Netjets on this principle in 1986. The concept has grown from selling shares in a few jets to selling shares in sixteen different models. Today, Flexjet customers can purchase shares in various Learjets [now owned by Bombardier] and Canadair [another Bombardier make] aircraft. Not to be left out in the cold, Canadian aircraft maker, Bombardier, jumped into the fray with AMR Combs [parent company of American Airlines] and started Business JetSolutions. During the time you are actually flying -- and also for a predetermined amount of time before takeoff and after touching down -- you will be assessed hourly charges to cover catering, maintenance, fuel, and landing fees.

Airline Fuel Costs Mount
Think of the military aviation, jets, helicopters, UAVs, AWACs, bombers and even flying gas stations in the sky for aerial re-fueling. The airline industry is under extreme pressure now. If they keep raising their fees to passengers then the passenger per plane ratios drop off, meaning flight are unprofitable. Generally Airlines too are a 24-hour business. It is like running several airlines non-stop 24/7.

The History of the Aircraft Wash Guys, Part Three
They have washed jets in Little Rock Arkansas, Scottsdale AZ Airpark, Colorado Springs CO, Bozeman MT, Columbus OH, Van Nuys CA, Palm Springs CA and many other airports across the country. Arthur was one of the original Tidy Car Franchisees, his dad once owned a small airline in Los Angeles, which flew jets and later had one of the top performing Mail Boxes Etc. Lance often wondered who was worse the government terrorist regulator lawyers or the actual Osama Bin Laden and company. Then as we started get going the FTC hurt many of our franchisees by attacking Car Wash Guys and then the other terrorists of 9-11 just about put the death blow in General Aviation, but aviation people are tough as they come and today the market sector is rebounding. Winslow has always been passionate about flying and aviation.

A Look at Fractional Jet Ownership
The big three, NetJets, CitationShares, and Flexjet, offer excellence in each, but some newer fractional start-ups may not be up to snuff. NetJets claims that your plane will be waiting on the tarmac within 6-12 hours notice. Fractional jet ownership is provided by a number of companies, including Cessna's CitationShares, Bombardier's Flexjet, and NetJets, the company that started the trend. NetJets, on the other hand features a broader spectrum of aircraft, and is the industry leader. According to NetJets's website, purchasing a 1/8 share in a Raytheon Hawker 400XP would set you back $793,750 plus a $10,582 monthly maintenance fee, and an hourly charge of $1,501.
