Airbus to Build $600 Million Aircraft Manufacturing Plant in US
Airbus has announced that it will build a $600 million aircraft manufacturing plant in Mobile Alabama. Alabama is quite good at attracting manufacturing facilities such as Mercedes, Nissan and other automobile manufacturers and is known for their tax incentives and pro-business stance. Think on the global competitiveness of the commercial aviation sector. Mobile Alabama is growing nice and has been moving forward with new housing tracts, retail centers, tourist destination locations and a growing and vibrant middle class. With most of the other major cities in Alabama having large manufacturing plants such as the Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa and the large auto manufacturing plants in Montgomery and Birmingham it does make sense that Mobile would be next on the list to get some economical development juice from the state.

Material Memory and NASA High Tech Plastics for Rotor Blades
I propose manufacturing these poly plastic blades for smaller UAV craft. Since they are made of polymer plastic blends it will be possible to add in some material memory manufacturing in the process. Material memory manufacturing with new high-tech NASA plastics will significantly increase performance characteristics and flight agility in future aerospace designs and we should definitely be thinking here and make use of these new materials to serve our needs. By using this technique we could increase the take off weight and allow the UAV VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) Helicopter to move quickly into position and then hover for much longer periods of time without using up all its fuel in route, thus allowing it an increased range for use in Natural Disasters, wartime, search and rescue, surveillance or commercial applications. These materials are said to be ten times the strength of steel and three times lighter than aluminum.

Private Jet Ownership Indeed
As a matter of fact manufacturers of business aircraft are quite happy with the market sector and most are completely bullish on their future prospects in the industry. Where would you like to fly today? Think about it. Fractional Jet ownership has never been easy. There is much interest in the private transportation sector and jet aircraft business. Private jet ownership is really taking off these days.

Mexico to Manufacture Aircraft
It appears Mexico with its 120 million population is considering getting into the lucrative aviation manufacturing sector. Mexico is sending its team of aviation specialists to the Ukraine to look into manufacturing new parts, spare parts, fuselages and wing assemblies as well as setting up certified repair stations. This agreement does not affect the United States in anyway, but the Mi Helicopter series does include the Mi-24 pictured here. The Ukrainian President announced the two countries may draft an agreement to protect their investments and relief for problems with double taxation. Not so sure this is a good piece of news for the Department of Homeland Security? That is rather close to our already leaking borders.

General Aviation Manufacturing is in the Tank; Hang On It is Going to Get Worse
Even if the aircraft manufacturing industry survives in the US it will have to share more of that world market with other countries like India and China. Change is a constant, Outsourcing Jobs, Capital flows, Emerging Markets are a given and this includes the Aviation Manufacturing Sector as we watch the current Migration pick up speed. Counties like those in Eastern Europe or China, Mexico and India will take the general aviation industry from the US, but India appears to be the emerging as the most likely winner and they know it. India is also manufacturing UAVs with large factories going up as we speak. BMW head says red tape and bureaucracy drowning motor industry.

India Air Traffic Issues to Come
Additionally India's private aircraft markets are increasing too along with a brand new general aviation manufacturing sector. Some industry analysts believe the number of new jets ordered of 490 is less than a third of what will be needed. Think about how big this really is for a country growing this fast. New runways, taxi ways, landing systems, air traffic control towers, terminals, parking, emergency services, environmental care, conveyor belts, check in systems, security, cargo warehouses, IT Systems, computers, air-conditioning and all the private sector hotels, car rentals, ground transportation interface and trucking terminals. If you are traveling to India expect delays, traffic, inconvenience as the airports work thru their growing pains.

FAA Intervention in Privatized Space Flight is Ridiculous
With the help of some Billionaire entrepreneurial investors they are poised to build an entire industry of Private Space Flight. The FAA needs to get their heads out of their rears and their fingers out of ours and I am not the only one who knows this. The fact is folks, everything the government touches gets ruined. Luckily the fractional jet market has taken off, but only after the FAA ditched some of their onerous regulations. Although those who study free markets, free enterprise and capitalism were hardly surprised, we all expected it and it makes sense someone like Rutan and Company would be the ones to do it too.

Airline Fuel Costs Mount
The airline industry is under extreme pressure now. The flow and costs of fuel are critical to the airline industry and the future of air travel in the World. It is a no win situation and they need some fuel price stabilization, yet an already hampered industry is facing additional crisis from fuel costs. Generally Airlines too are a 24-hour business. It is like running several airlines non-stop 24/7.

Entering Business Aviation, Part V: Tips on Finding Work
I draw upon industry leaders as well as the private flight attendants themselves to communicate what is going on in the industry, particularly from the cabin crewmember's point of view. After the recent crashes involving corporate jets you certainly do want to be knowledgeable about industry best practices involving ice. This is truly a niche community one that has gained the attention and respect of many in the industry. Others are working on the skills they need to enter the industry, while still others offer important help or guidance to the industry. See if you notice any difference in jobs listed.

Airline Travel Lingo! Does The Language Need An Interpreter?
I will explain the most common industry terms that many people get confused about. Simply put, they purchase tickets from an airline at a rate less than the tariff, with the intention of reselling the tickets to either you the public or travel agencies. A consolidator can be your friend if you understand how they work. The airlines distinguish certain fare prices by the terms normal or restricted. They buy tickets in bulk from air carrier companies, and therefore offer substantial savings.

Aviation Lawyer: Whether Passenger, Pilot or Owner, You May Need an Aviation Lawyer
Since 2000, the aviation industry has been in financial difficulty due to changes in world economy, the entrance of low-cost carriers, SARS, war, and, of course, terrorism. An Aviation Lawyer will understand law involving the industry, the mechanics of aircraft, types of aircraft, and how defects in these put passengers at risk. Thus, accidents still occur despite the increased security and safety laws and precautions. These factors have led airlines to cut any costs they can to maintain their fragile financial balance. These accidents are unnecessary and if you or a family member has been a victim of airline negligence or outright, purposeful ignorance, you should contact an Aviation Lawyer who can help you.

Airlines, Price Wars, and Branding
GET THE INDUSTRY TO AGREE ON PRICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES BEFORE YOU ATTACK. Driving down prices in any Industry makes that Industry and forces the weak to either adapt or exit the market place. The authors site this as damaging the industry. I would challenge any of these authors to put money on any company any company in the PC business industry. Overhead too high, and they refuse to break Industry ranks.

A380 Bathrooms
Both Airbus and Boeing have seen record orders for their latest model jets. Ready to get out of the driver seat yet and into a futuristic amenity rich modern jet airliner? The major commercial jet manufacturers and airlines are betting that you will. The Boeing 787 will have humidified air, so no more dry eyes during flights and because of its stronger composite cabin, it will leave the cabin pressure at 6,000 feet instead of 8,000 or 10,000 feet, meaning it is safer on the bio-system with more oxygen. Will this get more air travelers out of their SUVs and into airliners for those 350 plus mile journeys? Some industry analysts think it just might be the ticket the market sector needs. Boeing is also planning as a standard feature on its 787 airliners to have a window in the laboratories.

Airline Security; Stewardesses The Last Line Of Defense!
There is also the real threat, of terrorist co-operators working within the Airline service industry, which has access to the Aircrafts and could place weapons or bombs onboard the Aircraft, to be used by the terrorists. It might come as a chock to many people, including the Stewardesses, but the fact remains that in today's Airline Industry, the Stewardess is the last line of defense. More mundane, but daily occurrences in the International Airline Industry, is unruly passengers. There is also the fact, that the Airlines often have little control over the actual Airport security and close to no-control at foreign Airports. In many foreign airports the airlines simply have to rely on the local security and the occasional inspections, by official institutions such as the FAA etc.

China is Starting to Build Military Fighter Trainers
The JL-19 or FTC 2000 aircraft is a tandem two-seat, single engine jet fighter aircraft developed by Guizhou Aviation Industry. This would be one terrific little fighter plane to own for personal use and fly around as a sport plane too. And if you have the money, they would sell you one too. The JL-19 Mountain Eagle or the FTC-2000 it's NATO number will use the Chinese built WP-13 jet engine. Since it is both a fighter and trainer, some small countries, lacking a large fleet of fighter planes, could use the Mountain Eagle to train their fighter pilots in peace time, arming it for use as a fighter in war time.

Jet Lag - 5 In-flight Tips
As an alternative to sleep, or indeed in addition to sleeping, try listening to soft, soothing music in preference to watching the in-flight movies. Here are just five of the many things that you can do during your flight to reduce, or eliminate, the effects of jet lag.

Jet Lag - 5 Pre-travel Steps to Reduce the Effects of Jet Lag
One often overlooked factor in the jet lag equation is that of stress and much of this stress is a direct result of the journey itself. In reality of course no magic formula exists - and there is certainly no magic pill or tablet.

Flying As A Hobby
Ask a room full of people what hobby they have and you will get as many answers as there are people. By definition, a hobby is an activity or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in primarily for pleasure.

Flying VS Driving
When fuel costs are so high, people favor flying to driving. If you check the cost of flying VS the cost of fuel in you SUV, then you will see how affordable flying really is.

Airport Noise Reduction
Reducing airport noise can be achieved by using sound waves towards the noise area. By sending the waves up they would meet with the sound from the aircraft and cancel out the noise from the airport.
