Future Shuttle Launches
Just because the space shuttle would most likely be doing a dead stick landings as it always does should not make any difference, as the runway at Cape Canaveral is huge and made for such emergencies. However the shuttle should be able to be guided back thru the clouds via a ground system, augmented reality simulator like the Global Hawk. True safety should begin with complete reality based thinking, back up systems and confidence in the abilities of the systems and those trusted to do their job. Additionally why would the astronauts need to see to fly the spacecraft/aircraft at that point? After all they practice such aborted launches after lift off in simulators, where they are not actually looking at the ground and also we have available now systems, which are even used in Business Jets for zero/zero visibility landings. The systems send out many very hot flare type pieces out of the back of the aircraft and fool the Surface to air missile into thinking that those are the targets, thus the missile goes after the chafe flares instead of the actual aircraft.

Concorde Crash Conspiracy - It Could Have Been Prevented
Had this been available it could have inspected the Space Shuttle prior to its return and prevented the accident by way of video preflight. Incidentally today NASA announced a spherical device to fly around the ISS-International Space Station to check for damage from space debris. This is an awesome idea and I would hope the US Military would put them on the catapults so when it returns it video tapes the deck. The young man's device is said to be able to spot even a single nut on the runway, which could be picked up by a tire or sucked into a jet engine. This shows why it is important to get ideas from everywhere and how contests spur on innovation.

FAA Intervention in Privatized Space Flight is Ridiculous
During the big ceremony and media event following the third successful launch into space and safe return, the FAA was there to make a few comments. With the help of some Billionaire entrepreneurial investors they are poised to build an entire industry of Private Space Flight. They proved that private space flight is feasible and safe. The FAA needs to get their heads out of their rears and their fingers out of ours and I am not the only one who knows this. Luckily the fractional jet market has taken off, but only after the FAA ditched some of their onerous regulations.

Common Cockpit Concepts and Convenient Configurations
And yes what he was doing was rocket science and yes he was an aerospace engineer designing toilets for a better description. Now then I am not criticizing the lack of cranial capacity in the modern day human, rather simply suggesting a reality check is needed. We spend too much time in training of soldiers, drivers, pilots, operators with increasingly more complicated equipment. If we borrow a friend's car we are constantly looking for where stuff is, where is the hood release, fuel hatch release and how the hell do I turn off this G-Dang windshield wiper? As machines get more complicated and humans become more brain dead due to bad use of natural selection, we will need counter these issues with better designed standardization such is being done in the CCI. Often we see drivers in cars sitting too low and can barely see over the steering wheel, when we rent an aircraft everything is in the wrong place.

The History of the Aircraft Wash Guys, Part Three
Recently Burt Rutan made such a comment to Congress during his testimony on the birth of the private space industry. Lance often wondered who was worse the government terrorist regulator lawyers or the actual Osama Bin Laden and company. Then as we started get going the FTC hurt many of our franchisees by attacking Car Wash Guys and then the other terrorists of 9-11 just about put the death blow in General Aviation, but aviation people are tough as they come and today the market sector is rebounding. Winslow has always been passionate about flying and aviation. Winslow's dad wishes he could be flying F-18s in the Sand Box right now.

Downed Pilots Hibernating From the Enemy
Realize this technology is not yet available but will be within the next few years, especially considering the NASA budget for long-term space travel and trips to Mars. The plastic bag keeps out the bugs and would be coated with Tabasco Sauce to keep vultures who smell the flesh from tying to dig up or eat the human pilot. There is a solution or there will be soon as hibernation techniques and technologies become better. They have limited if any food supply and lots of people looking for them. Now then if a downed pilot could find a really good hiding spot, like a bear finds a cave for his hibernation and then go to sleep for a week or two, then by that time everyone looking for him or her will have given up.

Increasing TAS in Modern Day Fighters with Expandable Wing Tips
As the webbing retracts it would run thru a roller system allowing it to take up very little space, as the area it retracts into will also hold fuel tanks and space would be limited. As the aircraft approached the speed of sound it would be completely retracted. As the folding spar comes back it would provide an end-cap covering the system as well as a small gate or strake on the protruding fuselage/wing tip. Without the wing on the aircraft efficiency would occur in less drag, meaning higher speeds, better range and fuel economy. At 450 to 500 Knots the wing would fold back to 26-degree and then at 550 to 600 Knots fold back to 45-degrees.

Boeing is Really Flying Now
From their commercial aircraft division to their Space Program Boeing is on a roll. Commercial Aviation has taken quite a hit in the last five years and things did not look so great for Boeing after having massive layoffs, orders for new aircraft cut and lackluster sales. Today is quite a different story, those who betted against the Boeing Company or sold their stock prematurely must be kicking themselves now, they would have made quite a bit on their money had they simply reviewed their history notes of the last few decades. The Boeing Company has the expertise to help bring back monies to our country for all those goods we buy from places like India and China. The United States Trade Deficits are at record levels and there is no end in sight to a slowing.

Preventing Rapid Decompression In Commercial Airliners
I propose a similar notion and this is one of the safety protocols of former MIR and International Space Station now. Another idea is to neoprene covered mini Frisbees made of high tech super strength plastic in the pockets of stewardesses, and in the event of a small breach they simply pick them up and toss them towards the hole which will suck them into place. This way bullets in cockpits intended for terrorists will not be an issue with pressure at those altitudes above 10,000 feet. The bottom of the bins would need to be a tad bit stronger such as carbon fiber to withstand the suction, but double strengthened re-enforced plastic, composite or fiberglass coated with rubber ought to work fine. In a 747 this is not too critical as the inlet for the pressurization cabin system is twice the size of a window and the pressurization system could keep up with a breach the size of a window.

Aluminum Cleaner for Aircraft Detailing by Alcoa
Whether it is a beer can, aluminum rail car, Boeing 747 or Apollo Space Craft, you can bet it is made with Alcoa products. Many might argue that Mother's Polish is the best for motorcycles and we have to agree Mother's is an excellent product, but when using large amounts to do large surfaces, there is a certain profit motivation with our team. We thank Alcoa for licensing it's polish from it's state of the art, high tech Research and Development Group, to worthy distributors such as CLB Enterprises so it is available to our team and aviation enthusiasts at a low and fair price. Mother's Polishes of course are great also. Yet one of the best products we have ever found is Alcoa's Aluminum Polishes.

Entering Business Aviation, Part IV: Crafting a Resume
If you want to work internationally, you must respect local laws and customs. I have heard objections from some about this particular practice. College and universities are key institutions where many get their first try at crafting a résumÃ. I like what the University at Buffalo School of Management has to say about writing a résumÃ. If you are applying for work overseas the company or agency may want this information in addition to a full length picture of yourself and a headshot.

Let's take a look at some ways to help you break in to business aviation by following certain tips. The process of finding out about a job, getting interviewed, and eventually receiving an offer for employment starts with networking.

Tactile Strip Sensors on Leading Edge of Material Memory Airfoils
Now with material memory components they will be able to do this. (we know this because the bugs are stuck better on faster aircraft and harder to clean off; www.

Common Cockpit Concepts and Convenient Configurations
If you gain or lose weight you can then adjust manually the Common Cockpit you are in and it will imprint on your SmartCard the new position. One of the big pushes in aviation and military is to have common cockpit designs, which are ergonomically correct.

AWACS Automated Flight Following System for Nuke Bunker Buster Accuracy
The Aerial Fire Fighting Industry uses a system called AFF Automated Flight Following System. Similar to a Tomahawk missile attack, but with pin point accuracy into the cavity of each consecutive strike.

Young Men Trying to Imitate the 9-11 Scenario, Part II
The CAP was the mentoring program that was needed in the case of this young pilot. We toured the factory at Santa Maria CA where they made Aerostar 601s.

Whos Paying for the Private Jet?
There's also been rumors that one famous couple held a fit when their studio would not pay for a private jet to fly their luggage from L. Travolta even convinced his studio to give him a personal private jet for his own use 24/7.

Preventing Rapid Decompression In Commercial Airliners
I propose a similar notion and this is one of the safety protocols of former MIR and International Space Station now. It then sucks itself in place while the pressurization system works to bring the stability back.
